I had to bring out the happy dance last weekend (saved only for deserving moments of bliss)!
Ann James, an iconic picture book illustrator was a presenter at an Allen and Unwin seminar in Melbourne. http://www.allenandunwin.com/ I was inspired by her preliminary drawings and dummy books.
I had the opportunity to show her my illustrations and she liked them! What an honour!
An Allen and Unwin editor named Elise was also encouraging of a picture book story I have written for boys. She liked the storyline and the ridiculous characters.
I learned so much from all the presenters including Erica Wagner and Rosalind Price.
A brilliant weekend in Melbourne to top it off, particularly walking along the Yarra at night.
